Think of the happiest things, it's the same as having wings

A few things I like, snow globes, acorns, Princess Leia, this dog figurine.

I was watching this episode of Parks & Recreation last night and there was this funny bit with the character Craig where any time he got annoyed or angry he would name three things in life that made him happy, the joke was of course that his three things were always so random and funny, but I really liked the idea! When I get sad or angry or annoyed at life, I want to think of things that make me happy. I started a list today, I think it will be an ongoing thing for me.I thought sharing them might make someone else happy too!

Some things in this world that make me happy:
wind chimes
the smell of old books
the smell of fresh coffee
crushed ice
swing sets and teter-toters
a light wind in the trees
birds chirping
babies laughing
racoons washing their food

What are some things that make you happy?

The last week.

It's been a lovely weekend. Yesterday we spent the morning cleaning, and then spent some time with a friend having a lovely lunch and then hanging out in the yard, enjoying some of the spring blooms that are popping up.  In the evening I watched a few episodes of Orphan Black, which was amazing! It's a very exciting show that will have you on the edge of your seat!

Some pretty yellow blooms from my yard.

And some pretty white blooms.

Brian sampling some brews at Pfriem.

E & me sitting in the sun while we waited for our table.

Some delicious beignets with carmel and chocolate dipping sauces.

Today was spent with family, celebrating my parent's 35th wedding anniversary. Did I mention that the weather was great all weekend long? So great. After getting lunch we took the old highway home from Portland, stopped at the Vista House at Crown Point and at Multnomah Falls, it was so nice!

I've also been really enjoying audiobooks lately. I can check them out from the library and listen to them on my iphone while I commute. So convenient! On Tuesday I finished the amazing Yes Please by Amy Poehler, and started My Life in France by Julia Child. I've been really enjoying autobiographies lately, especially ones from cool ladies who I admire. :)

Blurry photo from a drive home from work last week.

A delicious dinner I made on Wednesday, Morrocan-style chickpeas, collard greens and wild rice.
Work in progress.

Tonight my plans are working on a couple crochet projects. I'm bummed there won't be any Downton Abbey tonight, but I'm sure I'll find something to watch while I crochet. :)

How was your week?
